Competition

Competition is coming from many different ways in the Wine sector.

Wine competition

A lot of new initiatives and new products are growing very fast and the world of wines is changing every year.

It could be worth to mention here the competition French Wines are facing by both traditional countries producing wines and relatively new producers emerging far and wide, especially in Chile, Argentina, Australie, South Africa, California…

Concerning the Beaujolais wine, the competition is not so high because the Fins know the Beaujolais Nouveau but not so much the Beaujolais (Beaujolais Nouveau is a young wine completely different from Beaujolais wines).

For instance, in the Alko price list for the period 1.10 – 31.12.2013, we have found only 3 Beaujolais wines (red wines) and only one Beaujolais-Villages (Cuvée 3 Fleurs). Few restaurants in Helsinki also propose Beaujolais Red Wines.

The reasons to explain the few Beaujolais Wines in the Alko catalog are numerous and sometimes are similar with the difficulties faced by other French Wines when going to export.
