The major players in the market for wines and spirits in Finland export finland

The state monopoly Alko Oy, established in 1932 by the law that repealed the prohibition of alcohol , defines the marketing rules of alcoholic beverages. Alko stores are under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. It is the only entity authorized to sell retail products grading more than 4.7 ° alcohol and currently operates 350 stores . It has in its standard range over 2180 products stored on the shelves according to the country of origin. In 2012, 61.7 million of purchase were recorded in Alko . Spirits represented 22.9% of sales volumes , red wines 31.8% and whites 15.9% ( the remaining 30% correspond to beers, Finnish ciders – different from France by their method of highly industrialized production – and long drinks) .

Other actors can be mentioned :

  • Altia Oy, state company , manufactures a large number of Finnish spirits and is the largest importer. In 2012, its market share was 41.8% in spirits and 29.4 % in wines. Its subsidiaries in this market are Wennerco Alpha Oy and Beverages.

  • Pernod Ricard Finland Oy (24 % market share for spirits, 11.1 % market share in wines ) – Hartwa -Trade Oy – Oy Norex Spirits – Servaali Oy – Oy Fondberg – Beverage Partners Finland Oy …
